A good friend of mine happened to be on the look out for his first rifle.
Being a game keeper, it would have to withstand the knocks and hardships that a keepers rifle will tend to get!
I received a phone call from him , and he informed me that he was stood in a gunshop looking at a nice Howa .223 rifle.
He went on to tell me that it was complete with moderator, bi pod and scope and was on sale for £840 as the Howa 1500 in .223 Stealth Package.
It sounded like a good deal I told him, but you must ask and see how many shots it’s fired as .223 with hot homeloads can burn a barrel out real quick.
He then went on to tell me that the package was brand new!
Safe to say, I advised him that it sounded like a great deal and exactly the right type of rifle and caliber for the work he would be doing.
He brought the gun round the next day and we hit the range to put some rounds through it and i can’t begin to tell you how impressed I was with this cracking little rifle.
Accuracy was great with the Nikko Stirling scope. Nice and clear with a wide field of view, this would be a great scope for lamping foxes at night.
Here are just some of the features of this package.
– Howa Barreled action in sporter or varmint variant
– Hogue rubber overmoulded stock in green or black
– Nikko Stirling 3-12×56 ir
– Mag conversion in 5 or 10 shot
– Picatiny rail with rings
